Project Daily hits Day 500 in 3 days time. Keep your eyes peeled. What do you think Day 500’s character will be?

Project Daily is my character design blog in which I have almost amassed 500 continuous days of character designs. Sunday will day 500, what kind of character do you think it will be?

(Reblogged from projectdaily)

A Type as Image typography assignment from the most recent semester. We needed to create a type as image poster based around a theme, mine being The Bauhaus. Along with the poster an exhibition needed to be invented.

A poster for an experimental video I have been working on. The video will be up in the next 24 hours, so the poster is a bit of teaser till then.

Follow the blog or my Twitter or like my page on Facebook to be one of the first to see the new video.

This was a poster design competition for Ween and the Hangout Music Festival via the website Creative Allies. The brief can be seen here, but a quick summary they wanted a Fillmore inspired poster which captured the Hangout music festival and Ween.

Decided to go with a Nautilus as they are strange a different. Also portrayed the the vibe of the festival with sun, water and a sense of fun while trying to keep in with the theme.

Bitches - Teaser Poster

A teaser poster I did for Flimmaker Aaron Freeder. The film should be out in a few months but here is a teaser of it now.Without giving too much away it is about what lengths a girl would go to to get into a sorority.

I used a mixture of Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop to create the image. I hope you like. Also when more news of the film come out I will let you know.

Productive Day

Today has been pretty productive with….

Project Daily

Not only did I hit Day 50 but I did a handful of more characters for the next few days. One of the days will have 3 characters for the price of one. They were all quite small and not quite enough to have on their own so they have been combined.

Bitches - Teaser poster

I’ve been working with independent film maker Aaron Freeder to create a poster for his next short film, Bitches. Everything has finally been finished and the poster will be up very soon.

Free Font Mega-List

The very popular free font Mega-list that I have created has been updated and includes a few hundred more fonts to drool over. If you like the list please let me know and/or follow this blog in order to keep up with it. Can be found here!

As mentioned in earlier posts is the finished product of The Echo Nova poster competition via Creative Allies.

As the brief wanted inspiration form sci-fi films I have done just that. The most obvious is Star Wars with a Death Star like base and spaceships attacking it. But it also has a reference to 2001: A Space Odyssey with the base having an eye similar to that of HAL 9000. When creating the base I also noticed that it sort of resembled that of a Medusa Head which are a common enemy in the video game series Castlevania, which happened to be a happy accident. I also slipped in a moon with a face hiding behind the giant purple planet which is a reference to Le Voyage dans la lune (A Trip to the Moon) which was the very first sci-fi film ever made. As for the ship I took reference from many sci-fi films as well as popular shoot-em-ups games from the 80s.

If you like it feel free to vote for it here. For some reason the colours always come out a bit strange when I upload to Creative Allies.

What have I been up to?

I’ve been kept pretty busy lately with some interesting things. Taken a break from the logo design as of late and have been going down a more illustrative path. One project I have been working on which is illustrative is my new blog, Project Daily. Project Daily is an ongoing blog in which I post a character illustration a day, ever day. My aim is for a whole year and then for as long as I can afterwards. At the time of writing this it is up to Day 15. Feel Free to check it out here.

I have been working on a movie teaser poster for an independent film making in the US. Once the complete design has been confirmed I’ll share it with everyone.

I project I started today was a poster for the band The Echo Nova via the site Creative Allies. It is a sci-fi themed poster and once it has been finished and submitted I’ll post it on here. Still in early stages but it will include 3D modelling and a deep space setting.

Last but not least I have updated my fonts mega-list which can be found here.

A design I did for the band Tokyo Police Club via Creative Allies. They wanted a black and white poster which people could colour in.

If you like it feel free to vote for it here

I used Illustrator to create this image.
