Enjoyed tonight’s episode? Can’t wait for next week for more Walking Dead? Always wanted to try the comics?

If you have answered yes to any of those questions then you are in luck. How To Love Comics has written an easy guide to how you can jump into and enjoy the Walking Dead comic series.

The guide covers everything from where to start, how it is collected and the differences between each format of each collection.

6 Green Arrow comics you should read

Although the image explains a fair bit of what the blog is about I will go into my motivations as to why I have created the blog.

Essentially I believe that it is a big daunting getting into comic books, some of it is a lack of awareness (due to publishers preaching to the converted instead of the potential audience), while other times it is a matter knowing where to jump in. How to Love Comics aims on helping in both those catagories and hopefully with a little help you will learn to love comics.

I don’t focus on any given genre or publisher, just as long as the quality/appeal is there and I believe it is new reader friendly to a degree.

The blog is still in its early days but I highly recommend that if you are looking to get into comic books then you should check out this blog.

Some of the content so far includes…

Comics as a Medium

Comic Book Glossary of Terms

Also while you are here go and check out the Twitter as I tweet regularly about news, preview and reviews that might interest both existing comic fans and new fans also.

Having a daily creative blog can be difficult. Whether it be, illustrative, photographic, video, written or musical it can be hard to maintain on a daily basis and many people who start one of these tend to stop not long after. I should know, I have a daily character illustration blog and it has been difficult at times. Considering this here are 5 tips to keep your daily creative blog on track, based on my own experience.

1. Set Some Rules for Yourself

If you set rules for yourself you creative blog will be more structured. Make rules for what kind of content you will post each day, make sure you have a theme of some kind. Aim for a time you want to post by each day, that way you will have something to aim for. When I first started my deadline was 11.59PM but yours might be 9PM, all depends on your schedule. Whatever rules you set for yourself make sure that they are not restrictive, otherwise you will not enjoy your what you are doing.

2. Be willing to work ahead

Sometimes your life is just too busy to create something everyday. You might have work, school, illness/injury or an array of other things in your life stopping you from being creative. So with that in mind it is okay to work ahead. Weather this be through planning what creative output you will have this week or working on tomorrow’s output today, I believe it is okay to do as long as you have something to show for it everyday. I often work a few days ahead, especially if I know life will get busy in the coming days.

3. Try new things

When creating things everyday it is easy for your work to get a little stale. to stop this from happening try experimenting in different ways. Use different materials or try a different style. I have often set up a themed week that is much different to what I might normally do for some extra variety.

4. Show off your work

Show off your creative blog to as many people you know. Why? 1. Feedback is always appreicated and allows for you to grow as a creative and 2. by showing off your work you know that people are seeing it, and hopefully enjoying it, and that can be great encouragement for you to continue your creative work.

A great place to show off your work is at MakeSomething365, which showcases daily creative blogs.

5. Enjoy what you are doing.

The more you enjoy your daily creative blog the more likely you are going to continue working on it.

really-shit asked: Congrats on your blog getting featured 3 times. That's a great accomplishment man

Thank you. It is more than I ever expected when started this blog 620 days ago. It really gives me extra enthusiasm when it comes to the blog. My next goal is to get to being featured 5 times.

Free Font Mega-List - Moving to Pinterest

The free font mega-list post will no longer be updated as it is getting too hard to keep track of. It will be continuing in spirit via Pinterest as a much more manageable way of collecting and showcasing free fonts.

The original list will still be available for viewing, it just wont be updated.

You can check out and follow the Pinterest board here and I will make sure that I update it regularly and full of inspiring fonts.

Project Daily, my daily character illustration blog, has been going strength to the strength in the past two days with it being featured on #Artists on Tumblr twice in two days.

It is always nice to see the blue surrounding a tag in my posts as it is a great indication that people are enjoying my work. I’d like to thank the editor(s) that allowed it to happen and everyone who has been reblogging/liking the characters.

In total Project Daily have been featured on the tag three times.
